Focus Groups

Working towards meeting Pass 1
A focus group is where you get a few people or a lot of people to ask questions on how to improve your product but also highlighting the bad things about the product and then how you could fix these problems and improve your product to be more apealing to the people from your target audience. another good thing about a focus group is you can decide what group of people you want for your focus group e.g. you could have a old group or a young group or something in the middle or if you have a specific group of people you want to sell to you can get a group of the specific people you want for example university students so you can see what they think about your product.

Working towards meeting Merit 1
I used a focus group to find out if my prodcuct was good for the target auidence our product was for, they gave a lot of helpful pointers on how we could improve the product to make it more apealing to them which is really useful as they were our target auidence so what ever improvement they suggested would likely be liked by other people of our target audience (teenagers) so we will use their ideas to hopefully make our product more apealing to the target audience.

Working towards meeting Distinction 1
The advantages of the focus group were we got a lot of useful feedback that will help us desgin a better product that will have the things that the focus group said they liked like how you didnt have to carry a bike lock around with you and how it could be a BMK instead of a normal push bike so it would be more apealing to the target audience of teenagers but we will also get rid of things like the shape of the bike and the colours as these were not liked and see as making the bike a bad product.

The disadvantages of the focus group were that the group didnt concentrate very well and gave answers that were stupid for example when one of our group members asked how much you would be willing to pay for this bike they said £25 answers like these just wasted our time where we could of been asking questions on how the bike could be improved to be more suited.
